well Meathead is right though. A friend of mine went to Taiwan and he had a shave done with a straight razor, now he swears by it.

I use a Mach 3 and almost all of my friends use Mach 3s. Even my girlfriend uses a Mach 3. As far as I am concerned, they are the best razor on the market. They aren't cheap, but they aren't all together too expensive either. I am willing to pay just about anything to not have my face hurt IMO.

i think they're around $8 for a 4 pack at wally-world. with as little as i shave, that lasts me 2-3 months. so $30-$40 a year isn't bad if ya ask me. aren't replacement blades for electrics super expensive?

They are, but by the time you need one the razer you bought orignally is so damn cheap you can buy the new razor for less. Of course my facial hair isn't as coarse as some, and it isn't as think as most, so it may be my wimpy hair growth that I don't have to get a new razor every 2 years. And I typically spend 100 bux on one. In fact my current one is now 20 bux at walmart and it is about time for me to upgrade Very Happy

Anyone got any ideas, is that closeness one any good? Or shall I revert to a straight blade?

Electric for me. Tried the Razor once and had a few cuts here and there after I was done. Electric is easier, plus Im too lazy to use the razor. Smile

BTW, Havok, are you allowed to use electric in boot camp or do they force you to use the razor?

I use hot water, no soap, no cream, just shave in the shower. Mach 3 blade lasts me probably a half dozen shaves, 2 weeks or so.

Jester: ya have to use a normal razor during boot... and during field training, you normally have to dry shave. I dont care what anyone says, dry shaving (just a razor... and thats it...) is the mot painful fucking thing you can imagine. Talk about razor burn from hell! Ohh, also, my barber is straight old school. He whips out hot lather and a straight razor to do your neck and sideburns. He has the leather strap on the side of the chair he runs the razor across. He does a really good job... hasnt ever cut me, and I have gone there since I was like 2....

I got my first Mach 3 in some mail promotion for free. Only one blade of course. It got funky after a couple of years and I bought a Turbo. There's a new one out, but I don't think it's any different, just prettier.
