would recommend Dell. I have 2x 22" ultrasharps and they are a great, very stylish as well.

The other brand I like is Samsung.....incredibly vibrant image Very Happy

Just do some research on IPS panel monitor models. Generally you have to dig for serials or revisions to find the proper version of the monitor unless you're laying out big money which you are not.

Dell Ultrasharps regardless generally look great, even the TN and PVA models, but their viewing angles leave something to be desired.

honestly I have never spent that much time looking at a monitor from anything less than dead on so for me viewing angles are a non-issue....but then again that may just be me....

it also comes down to what your using it for.....i.e. gaming, digital production, media....etc etc

IDK I'm liking Anreill's idea the best, why is everyone so fond of dell monitors? Is there something great about them?

There are only a handful of people who make LCD panels. I wouldn't really say everyone is fond of Dell monitors, but they're fond of certain panels.

http://www.pchardwarehelp.com/guides/lcd-panel-types.php

on gamut:
http://forums.overclockers.com.au/showthread.php?t=723315

read those and then chase down the best panel you can get for your money
wide gamut panels don't display colors properly in Windows, unless the application is specifically aware of color profiles.

22"+ panels usually are wide gamut, so colors are going to be reproduced inaccurately at this time.
