yeah i can't do anything about it so oh well. I was paying $77 a month for 384/256 dsl in calera, so this is fine.

not sure if you'd want to on a gen1. but 3g tethering is pretty fast.

google "iphone tether" and i think it's the 4th link down (the cnet.com link). look for an update to the article that talks about how to enable it using the phone only by going to some website and downloading some preferences file. apple has had it there in the 3.0 update all along, but hasn't turned it on yet cuz AT&T wants to charge us for it. F that!

The pref file tethering no longer works on 3.1 so if you've upgraded you're SOL until you can jailbreak. If you have a Mac the iPhone dev-team just release the Pwnage tool so you can jailbreak and install Mywi. It costs $9 but its well worth it. Edge is gonna be slow but its better than nothing.
If you don't have a Mac you'll have to wait for their windows tool to be released.
