Who would be interested in a Jedi Academy 1v1 tourney?

Puting feelers out on doing a 1v1, double elim duel tourney. Sabers only, no force powers other than jump/saber attack/defend. MAYBE push/pull. Map would most likely be a custom FFA or Duel map. Matches would be best 2/3. FFA would be used to seed it. Everyone would be on the server at once, and duels/matches would be called out via teamspeak and happen in front of everyone in an arena type environment. Projector will be in full effect.

Can I get a hand count via the forum vote to see what the interest level is on something like this?

Rest of the thread is for cussing/discussing/suggestions.

If you have links to mods/server cfg's etc, I would be VERY interested, or if ANYONE out there is a JA guru, PM ME PLEASE!

I would do it...however there seems to be a bug with my multiplayer mode Jedi Academy...it always bombs out.

Can we maybe have just a few force powers? for light / dark?

since I'm already going to Best Buy today (RotK comes out today), I'll get it if it is indeed $19.99, as Brules says. I may even be interested in participating in the tourney. but please, for the love of God, don't make it a double elimination. if it's 2 out of 3 duels that defines a match, I reckon there's no need for anything other than single elimination. that would also let us start after 6.

Ok that is fine by me. My thinking was that since duels go quickly, 3 duels shouldnt take more than 5 minutes....

But single elim is fine by me. Makes it easier to run.

Also, it looks like the server will be using the JA+ v1.9 (or 2.0) mod. For anyone wanting to play in the tourney, I highly suggest you DL the client side plug in, and then use All Seeing Eye to find some FFA servers that use the JA+ 1.8/1.9 mod (99.999% of them do).

JA+ is a server side Mod for both windows and linux which has the possibility to get a Client side plugin with pk3 files.
this plugin is designed to give UI, animation and feature enhancement to your client side game.
You are not obligated to install the plugins with the JA+ server side part to run a JA+ server.
