VeraCrypt
Anyone using VeraCrypt to encrypt their system drives on their personal computers? I'm interested in doing so, but am worried about the performance hit when playing games, surfing the interwebs, etc. I have a 3.0GHz Conroe based C2D and a 512GB Transcend SSD370 drive.
If so, what kind of performance hit can I expect if/when doing so? (planning on encrypting the entire system drive) _________________ For with what measure you measure it will be measured to you.

Yup.
It says it can decrypt just as well as encrypt, so I may just try it for a while and if I don't like it take it back off.
i'd hate to loose everything in a senior moment of forgetting my boot password tho. _________________ For with what measure you measure it will be measured to you.
