Overview:
Tech position needed to work alongside other IT staff and the federal property custodian, duties may include some or all of the following:
-receiving assets
-moving equipment within and/or between facilities
-facilitating the replacement of faulty equipment (perform RMA's)
-staging equipment for build/image activity
-interviewing end-users for necessary requirements during pre-deployment activities
-installing and maintaining PC software and hardware
-diagnosing and removing malware and viruses
-troubleshooting computer peripherals such as CPU, RAM, hard drives, power supplies, etc.
-preparing assets for disposition
-replacing lamps and filters on projectors
Responsibilities:
-Diagnose hardware problems for servers, PC's, laptops, MAC's, and peripherals/replace parts as needed
-Manage the movement of assets coming in and between offices
-Prepare Windows and Apple OSX systems for deployment
-Rack servers in NOAA computer room and provide necessary cabling upon request
both in rack and under raised floor
-Provide help-desk support for Windows and Apple OSX systems
-Setup encryption software for Windows-based laptops
-Manage conference room and video teleconferencing equipment/report problems to OU IT for replacement
-Manage hardware for Science on a Sphere
-Provide support for handheld devices and tablets
Qualifications:
-Minimum 3 years experience with PC support
-Minimum 3 years experience with PC hardware troubleshooting and repair
-Ability to follow written or verbal instructions
-Adaptable to change in process or required activities
-Professional attitude and work ethic
-Desire to work either independently or closely with others
