If you haven't been following the happenings in Eve lately, the winter patch is bringing a lot of cool stuff. Every race is getting a new tier 3 battlecruiser that uses large battleship size guns. Hybrid weapons are finally getting a buff in the form of better tracking, higher dps, and lower fitting requirements. Super caps are getting nerfed so that they cant own a battlefield without support to back them up. CCP also came up with a method of taming lag in massive fleet fights called time dilation(you'd have to read about it, it's technical) Lots of other stuff as well but I don't want to type out an essay here.

<disclaimer>I haven't played this in a long time but I still pay attention to what is changing</disclaimer>

It really doesn't take long to build a character that has a couple things that is good at. Learning is now off the table and everyone learns at (or near) the same rate. The basic skills to fly a decent frig are easily obtainable and you can make a difference in fleet combat. Getting in with a good corp is probably more important than ever if you want to play in low sec space.

When I get my new rig built i may try a trial account and see what I think. I always loved the way it looked, but it always seemed that to ever go beyond safe space, would require more playing/funds than I ever could put into it.

Quick question for you eve whores......if I started an account, you still do passive XP gain right? So I could train skills and not play....then just buy a shit ton of ISK and start playing once I get past a lot of the silly noob mining for isk phase correct? Looks like you can buy ISK pretty damn cheap.....

So noob accounts don't train while loggerd out? Ick. Nice deal on the isk. I tried to install it on my laptop last night.....fail. I will give it a go this week when I get my new machine built.

Yes they trained while you're offline, as long as your account is paid.
