i'm now a marathoner  Reply with quote  

i ran my first marathon in new orleans on feb 13th, for my birthday (on the 16th). my training runs here in denver were pretty slow, so i was hoping for a 4:45 finish time. i killed the actual marathon at just a shade under 4:20. i had so much fun that i've already signed up for the next one, in chicago in october.

I was using Runkeeper Live real-time tracking during the race too, and was uploading photos along the race route.

whoda thunk i could go from non-runner to marathoner in a year?! i certainly didn't. Very Happy

In all seriousness though, congrats. The longest run I ever made was just over 12mi and that KILLED me. I was also a lot younger. I prob couldn't run a mile right now Sad

i couldn't run a mile when i started. it just takes practice, and a good pair of comfy shoes.
