Does anyone have a TI-84 calculator?
I'm nearly dying waiting on people to port PSGroove and PSFreedom to the iPhone or PSP so I'm going to give in and see if anyone has a TI-84 or TI-84+ I can borrow long enough to hack my PS3
Yes, it needs to be a TI-84, I actually have a TI-83 but unfortunately it's not ported to that model and I don't think there are any plans to do so. There are a number of phones that are already ported but I kind of doubt anyone wants to loan out their phone to me
For anyone that's wondering, they actually have already made an iPhone port compatible with the 2G/3G and I do have a 2G but the port isn't complete yet so it doesn't do me much good at the moment. There is also a proof of concept for the PSP version of the port, but it doesn't actually accomplish anything at the moment so it's a bust for now. _________________ Failure is just success rounded down.

As far as I know right now the only calculator that they are bothering to port it to is the 84 and 84+ since they're now as common as the 83 was when I was in high school. It's not the end of the world if I have to wait, I am just impatient. _________________ Failure is just success rounded down.

After looking around a bit, the TI-84 is a damn sexy calculator. Wish I'd had one when I was in middle/high school. _________________ Failure is just success rounded down.

This is the calculator I had in school. It was my dad's but he let me use it. It was actually quite an expensive and nice calculator for its time.

Oh, I am so potentially happy. Spent the last few hours playing with my iPhone 2G now that the PSFreedom port was completed for it. The phone now runs iOS 3.1.2 + Android 2.2 Froyo and very soon it will also hack my PS3 (hopefully).
It's a stark difference in speed between the old iPhone and the 3Gs and 4. I was happy moving up but I really didn't notice how slooooooooooooooooooooooow the original was until I had to start playing with it again. _________________ Failure is just success rounded down.

It works! PS3 has been hacked for a few hours now, been playing with some of the different homebrew packages and testing backups of my own and of others. Seems to work pretty well so far, just needs polish.
Later today I'll start testing out burning backups to test, it seems like it potentially removes all compatibility issues people have been having with running backups on Internal vs. External HDDs. _________________ Failure is just success rounded down.

Well, speaking from a man that used that caculator many times those are LED's not nixies.
I also used this quite a bit more (kinda a learning game more than a calculator)

The one my dad had was definitely a Nixie tube, from the 1970's or so....As for the HP yeah those are LED's I think.....as I couldn't find any reference to 'nixie' and 'HP' in google....besides the images....
although I did find this....its an interesting if somewhat nerdy read...

Really? No love for the Dataman? Was I the only one that had one of those as a kid? _________________ For with what measure you measure it will be measured to you.

It's not that. The rest of us are wondering why this thread isn't dead yet. _________________ Advocating the end of the world since July 1995.
