Well, here are my first benches with CrossfireX 5970s, and then later adding a 295 for PhysX.
Alot of the benches seem to have shakey support for CrossfireX as seen in 3DMark Vantage where it just DEMOLISHES Feature tests at better than double the FPS of the single card but pales in the GPU tests. Currently I have also not been able to apply the CrossfireX hotfix for Dirt 2, so those FPS results are from a SINGLE 5970 with everything on Ultra but Post Processing and it is GORGEOUS!
I think that as the drivers mature it would be a viable option, but on the other hand this is so much power that even I think it is silly. I have already practically sold my original Sapphire 5970 OC and will be keeping my Asus card. Also just bought a used PNY GTX 275 for PhysX so I think that will do just fine for quite some time until 5970 prices and drivers get more reasonable.
