My new build  Reply with quote

I've been talking about it, but, here's my new build.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($229.99 @ Newegg)
CPU Cooler: Corsair H80i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($94.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: MSI Z77A-GD55 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($132.86 @ Newegg)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($51.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($51.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: MSI Radeon HD 7950 3GB Video Card ($315.91 @ Newegg)
Case: Corsair 600T White Graphite ATX Mid Tower Case ($162.98 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: Corsair Professional 650W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($109.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $1205.70

I'm using my current SSD drives and my one 3TB drive that I already have. 8gb of the ram came free with the motherboard and the PSU/CPU netted me another 30$ off as a combo deal. Parts will be in this coming week which gives me plenty of time to build and tweak it so that it's ready for the LAN

ATI, meh. Otherwise, more power to you. Smile

I was going to go with an nvidia card, but, the more I read, the more I found that Eyefinity from ATI is better for multi monitor gaming (I do 5760x1080 across three 24in monitors). That and this thing can be overclocked to 670 speeds with very little effort if I need to.

That 7950 is a beast. With a little tweaking, you can milk quite a bit more power out of it. Check this out.

Alright it's built, i'll be bringing it to the LAN this weekend. The downside is that I will have to return the H80i, it's got a faulty LED in the cooler I can get blues and reds but not greens. The upside is, i'm going to return it for the H100i. Since the case I have is built for a 240mm rad at the top it will fit way better with less cramping. The H80i is a great cooler though. It's kept my i5 under 50c at full load.

I can take some when I get home. I will be doing a lot more cable management when i get the new sleeved cables for the PSU and the 5.25-3.5 drive bay converter as well. I'm really digging this case, even if it's a beast.
