My re-build into a new case (56k beware)  Reply with quote

So I was pretty much outta room and running pretty hot in my Mid-tower so when I saw the Antec 1200 with free shipping and combo-ed with Windows 7 ultimate I jumped on it. Well it got here and I have to say it is the finest case I have ever had. So I thought I would share some pics of the build to see what you guys think.... Very Happy

It pretty well dwarfs my current Mid-tower which is still an awesome case.....

Nice pic of my old build....a rats nest and cramped. The case just wasn't designed to hold all this stuff.

I knew the 1200 was a beast but just looking how it makes an ATX motherboard looks so small drives the point home.

PSU and one of the 285's installed....

One of the Hard Drive bays housing my 2 RaptorX's and a WD 750GB. You can also see the cable management system in action.

The second drive bay with a second 120mm fan installed to make a "wind tunnel" right to the intakes of my SLi 285's.....And yes it works extremely well but more on that later.

More cable management Laughing

Second card installed as well as the TB Drive and Optical Drive

Lots of spinning blades and of course the big boy 200mm top exhaust fan....

The rear end.....hopefully in the near future I will utilize those water cooling access ports Very Happy

The finished baby.....not too shabby. I want to rework that side window in the future as isn't the best looking. Otherwise no complaints. My CPU dropped about 7c at idle and the 285's saw a 15c drop each Shocked

So what did I do after seeing that....you guessed right pushed up the overclocks. Was able to hit 3.82Ghz stable on the quad and 695 core clock on the 285's....needless to say I am a very happy nerd right now Laughing

I like the WC grommets on the back, that's spiffy.

I'm definitely a fan of that case and it's a nice build. What I've seen alot of people do that I like is to flip the hard drives 180 to hide the SATA cables entirely.

I'll have to check into that and see if the sata cables will clear the front intake....

Also, IF you are interested. Sleeving mats that are about impossible to come by in the US that are the exact size for sleeving SATA cables and much smaller wiring like fan wires can be found at www.murdermod.com. They're pricey by comparison to other sleeving mats, but I think they're well worth it overall.
