OKC - HxC Summer Season Opener - H3 4v4/FFA - 6/27/09  Reply with quote

Alright OKGG! We finally found a good location and set a date! This is our tournament details for Halo 3 4v4 and Halo 3 FFA. For the first time we are going to be charging an entry fee to help pay for the venue. One thing that we would like to explain to everyone is that EVERY DIME that is made from this tournament is going STRAIGHT towards the following: Paying for the Venue, Paying for the next tournaments venue, future prizes, and equipment. NONE of the money goes to our pockets personally, it all goes to making our tournaments bigger and better for all of YOU! We hope you attend and enjoy our Season opener!

If you arent able to make it on time for registration, just make sure you give us a call before 1:00 and we will take down all your information and put you in the bracket then you can pay when you get there.

Equipment:
We will have 2 of our own setups, 1 of our setups includes 8 Viewsonic vx2260wm TVs and 8 360s. We will need at least 4 teams to bring their own equipment, which means we need at least 16 extra TVs, 360s, and Halo 3 copies for the 4v4. IF YOU ARE ONLY REGISTERING IN THE FFA ONLY, YOU ONLY NEED TO BRING A CONTROLLER AND A COPY OF HALO 3.

Tournament Layout:
We will be running the FFA on our two setups and we will be running the first few matches of the 4v4 on the other equipment people bring. Once the FFA tournament is over we will make all equipment usuable for the 4v4.

Responsibility:
HxC will not be responsible for anyones equipment but our own. We suggest marking your equipment with your name somehow, whether that be tape and just your name on the tape or a sticker of some sort. However you want to do it, as long as you know its your.

********SEEDING PROCESS FOR H3 4v4*********

-We will run a FREE online tournament before our first live event.
-Players will earn points by participating in these online events.
-We will seed teams ONLY by the points that they have earned in the online event. (First tournament only)
-After the live event has happened we will add those points that they have earned in both the live and online events together to help seed for the next online event and then the next live event etc...
-We will giving the points to the individuals on the team, not the team as a whole. We are doing this because of the lack of consistency of teams sticking together.
-The team you play on in the online events prior to the next live event will be the team that you play with at the live event – NO EXCEPTIONS
-We will add all the players, on one teams, points together to give a grand total and then seed the team by that total.
-We will then take the team with the most points and put them in the bracket against the team with the least amount of points, then the team with the second most points and put them against the team with the second least amount of points so on and so forth.
-Any teams that do not have any points at a live event will be seeded in after all the other teams are seeded accordingly.

Pls move to the appropriate forum. Next time one thread about your LAN will suffice. We are all old and crabby and don't want to open three threads about the same thing.

Probably because developers have lowered the standards on PC Gaming by focusing on consoles. Games are often just direct ports from consoles now whereas they used to be specifically developed for PC.

What really needs to happen is more development that allows PC's and multiple brands of game consoles to play together online and in LANs. Some programs already do allow one brand and PC's to play together, but it is way to rare.

It would be cool to get console gammers to come to the OKGG and play against any other platform, but those days are not here...yet.

If they could improve things like the FragFX controller for the PS3 it would be pretty awesome to have the wider audience of console gamers to play against in things like CoD4/WaW.

Also makes screen peeking alot easier when the other guy is playing on a big screen. Wink
